About Klar Design
Fewer, better tools
Klar means clear. We make functional Scandinavian stationery for focused work and everyday organization - the notebooks, planners, pens and desk tools that get out of the way and let the thinking through.
Why we exist
A good desk is not the one with the most on it. It is the one where every object earns its place. We started Klar because the stationery market was full of things that looked busy and helped little - and almost nothing that was simply, quietly useful.
So we make a small number of things on purpose. Each one is designed around a single job, built from responsible materials, and made to be kept for years rather than replaced each season.
What we believe
Utility before ornament
Decoration earns its place from function - a knurled grip where a pen is held, a lay-flat binding because one hand is busy.
Responsibly made
FSC-certified paper, wood from managed forests, waxed linen that wears for years. Better materials cost more and last.
Made to be kept
Refillable pens, replaceable inserts, and materials that age well. We measure ourselves in disposals, and we keep them low.
Precise by design
Generous margins, honest ruling, and quiet finishes. The details you feel but never have to think about.
How it's made
Design
Every tool starts with a single job. We sketch, test with real pens and real deadlines, and cut anything that doesn't earn the space.
Material
We work with mills and makers across Scandinavia and Europe, choosing paper and wood for how they behave under use, not just how they look.
Make & ship
Small batches, made carefully, packed in recycled board. Orders leave within 1-3 days, with free shipping over €60.
Try a clearer desk
Start with one good notebook or a full set. See the difference a considered tool makes.
